Transistor-Transistor Logic is the largest digital integrated circuit family. They can change states more than 20,000,000 times per second and are cheap. They also use a high quantity of power, they must be powered by a 5 volt supply.
A newer form of TTL is the low-power Schottky TTL (LS). They only use about 20% as much power of the former TTL. They are more expensive than standard TTL. The most popular TTL is possible the 74LS00 series.
